Lesedi Nuclear Services launches new South African office

Lesedi Nuclear Services launched their new Gauteng offices in South Africa at an event held during the Africa Energy Indaba conference in Johannesburg in February.

Lesedi is pleased to announce that the company today officially launched its new Gauteng offices, located in Centurion, between Johannesburg and Pretoria. The offices commenced operations 18 months ago to facilitate Lesedis diversification and enable the company to better service clients in the mining and minerals industry.

Lesedis references in the mining and minerals industry include top blue-chip companies locally and internationally, successfully completing projects for Northam Platinum, Lonmin, Babcock & Wilcox, South32 and Syama Gold in the last 18 months.

Lesedi evolved from Intens Engineering, which was founded in the mid-1980s to provide engineering, recurrent maintenance services and technical resources for the South African power industry. Lesedi expertise includes 20 years involvement at the Koeberg Nuclear Power Station in Cape Town and the Balance of Plant scope at Medupi, the largest dry-cooled coal power station in the world. Lesedi has since diversified into a major engineering, procurement, construction and maintenance (EPCm) company, having successfully completed numerous key projects in nuclear, industrial power, mining and oil and gas environments.

Lesedi is a well-established engineering, project management and maintenance solutions house that conceptualises, manages, and implements its own engineering projects. The company has an established nuclear capability, yet the bulk of their business resides outside of the nuclear sector – including gas, renewable, coal and pumped storage energy projects. Lesedi is also the local agent for a  number of world-class products and services including CONCO Tube Cleaning equipment, LEC Lightning Protection equipment, Large Emergency PA Systems and DEF Fire Detection and Protection equipment.

Lesedis CEO, Mr Francis Carruthers said, I am proud to be a part of the growth of the Southern African industry and the successes of our company, and I am excited to see Lesedi grow and diversify which is possible due to the exceptional experience and capabilities of our teams.
